June 21

The main task today was gardening. After breakfast I went up to the greenhouse to start weeding. Four hours later I was still weeding. The task of weeding the greenhouse turned out to be a bigger job than I thought. I took a break for lunch and then had to take on the task of cleansing my treehouse from spiders. My weapons consisted of a can of Raid and a cleaning solution made of oranges and vinegar. I went through the attic spraying Raid and around my bed with the orange and vinegar mixture. I’m hoping I’ve either killed the spiders or deterred them from coming in again.

Following my spider debacle, I went back up to the greenhouse to plant a box of indigenous chamomile for making teas later this summer.
Indigenous camomile and a johnny jump-up (purple flower).
This was my last major project for the day. I did find time to take some pictures of other projects, but then I clocked in for the day. Now it’s time for piroc, a dish made of cabbage, salmon, rice, and other veggies.
