July 9

This morning it was overcast but nice out. Kristy and I went for a walk on the beach this morning at 6:30 AM and then headed over for breakfast. The first task of the day was making sauerkraut from scratch, which turned out to be a fun process! After the sauerkraut was finished, I went out to stack wood while Kristy took a nap.

In the afternoon the crew headed out to the woods to practice pistol shooting for bear emergencies. This was fun until I burned my thumb on the 44 mag. We headed back to main camp and spent the next hour or so painting rocks. This was fun and therapeutic at the same time.

Nothing else of importance happened in the evening besides dinner. Kristy had her first fresh sockeye salmon and loved it. The rest of the evening was relaxing with some quiet time before bed.
