July 6

This morning Kristy and I had a relaxing morning before heading out to do some last minute errands. We bought groceries, got some library books, and went to the Alaska fish and game office to identify a fish we found in the creek on the property.

Before heading back to the homestead, Kristy and I picked some clovers to make homesteader’s honey when we get back. The trip into town was gorgeous. We also brought Josh, who is moving in across the strait from Ginger. We saw fin whales, a bald eagle, sea otters, deer, and seals. The waves got pretty big closer to home and Kristy got splashed good. When we finally got back we had to unload the enormous amount of stuff that we brought back. This took us until almost 9:00! We made a snack tray for everyone to eat and chatted for awhile until it was time for bed. Since Kristy is here, I moved to another cabin so we both can be together while she’s here. I’m so happy I now get to share this experience with Kristy.
