Just when we thought the
weather was improving, we got hit with more wind and rain. In the morning I
made more energy balls to prolong exposure to the outdoors. Afterwards, I
decided to start working on the Mystic Mountain manual, something I talked
about doing since the beginning of summer. I started by organizing the layout
and then began tweaking and writing the different sections which included the
various buildings, maintenance, and safety procedures among others. This ended
up taking the whole afternoon until it was dinner time. At that point I helped
cook dinner which was salmon and cod, a wonderful salad, and millet with
onions, mushrooms, and fresh sage from the garden. It was a delightful meal
complemented with a glass of red wine.
After this Kristy and I
fed the chickens and then retired to our cabin for the night. I thought I would
read for awhile but instead found myself cleaning the whole cabin top to
bottom. Just as I was finishing up downstairs, I heard a great crash behind me.
Kristy had fallen down a steep set of stairs in the cabin and was lying
awkwardly on the bottom step. As unfortunate as this was, I could not stop
laughing. This didn’t help the situation any, but it was funny none-the-less.
There truly is never a dull moment here at Mystic Mountain.
