The wind and waves were
calmer this morning which is promising for Ginger and Stan to make it out here
at last. By 10:30 we received a radio message that they were minutes from the
beach! Stan hasn’t been here in 3 months, so he was very happy to make it here
in one piece. We spent most of the morning unpacking the load brought from town
and organizing the rest of the day.
After lunch, I picked a
bunch of oregano and began picking leaves to place in the dehydrator for later.
Kristy and Ginger picked the wild chamomile that has been growing in the
outdoor gardens and then came in to help with the oregano and start attending
to the kombucha. It’s been an interesting dynamic having Stan around the
property instead of just Ginger and us volunteers. I can’t wait to see what we
will accomplish with the remainder of the summer. In the meantime, we had a
banya since this is Stan’s first time back in a while.
For dinner we had salad,
homemade coleslaw, and watched a movie with popcorn. It was a great end to a
tumultuous day.
