August 1

Hello August! It’s an exciting time here since everything is in full swing but also a sad time because I’ll be leaving soon. This morning Kristy and I continued our cleaning of the Halibut Hole which took until almost 2:00 PM. We washed the kitchen dishes, cupboards, and fridge and finished by sweeping and mopping.

In the afternoon Kristy and I spent some time doing arts and crafts while washing the curtains from Halibut Hole. I made some earrings from mussel shells and a ring from beach glass. The whole process was fun and challenging at the same time.

In the evening we had Bryan and Kay, two set netters in the area come by for a banya. Then we had Adam and Juliana stop by as well and they joined in on the banya too! This was a great socializing time, especially since its rare to have neighbors come over in the bush.

For dinner, which Kay and Bryan stayed for, we had homemade spaghetti sauce with spaghetti squash, noodles, and salad with fresh organic greens from the garden. While we ate dinner we had a Rod Stuart concert playing in the background, which added a nice ambiance. Afterwards we did some socializing and then called it a night.
